Refund and Access Policy

This policy explains when refunds are available and how long access lasts. It is part of our Terms of Use.

Self-paced courses and series: all sales are final

Courses and series start delivering content the moment you buy them, so all self-paced purchases are final and are not refundable. This includes individual courses, series and annual plans bought by an individual.

Please read the course description, contact hours and audience on the course page before you buy. If you have questions, email us at support@govleadersacademy.com before purchasing.

Not passing is not a reason for a refund. If you use all your attempts on a knowledge check or on the final exam (where the course has one) without passing, you may take the course again by purchasing it again at the current full price. We then reset your progress, and your earlier attempt record is kept.

Organization, board and agency purchases

Whole-board annual plans, organization plans, add-on seats, Concierge service, Advanced Programs and custom training are refunded only as stated in the signed agreement or accepted purchase order for that purchase. If the agreement or purchase order says nothing about refunds, the purchase is final. Add-on seats and Concierge service follow the same rule as the plan they belong to.

When we will make it right

The "all sales final" rule does not stop us from correcting our own mistakes. We will:

1. Correct billing errors. If you are charged twice for the same item, or charged an amount different from the price shown at checkout, we will refund the difference.
2. Fix access problems. If you cannot open a course you paid for because of a problem on our side, tell us and we will fix it. If we cannot restore access within a reasonable time, we will extend your access period, move you to a comparable course, or refund the purchase.
3. Handle retired courses fairly. If we withdraw a course before your access period ends, we will give you a comparable course or a prorated refund.

Any other refund is an exception made at the sole discretion of GovLeaders Academy. To ask, email support@govleadersacademy.com within 14 days of purchase with your name, order date and reason.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, or, for invoiced purchases, by the method used to pay the invoice. Card refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days. When a purchase is refunded, access bought with it ends.

Card disputes (chargebacks)

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; most problems can be fixed quickly. While a dispute is open, access bought with that payment is paused. We may share your course activity records with the card network as evidence that the course was delivered. If the dispute is decided in your favor, that access ends.

How long access lasts

When access ends, you keep your account, progress, completion records and certificates. You can still view and download certificates you have earned.

Annual plans and renewals

Each annual plan is a one-time purchase for 365 days. To continue, buy a new term or issue a new purchase order. For whole-board and organization plans, existing access continues for up to 45 days after the term ends while a renewal is being processed. After that, access pauses until payment is received, unless we agree in writing to an extension.
